The firm specializes in first-year financial aid strategy, with an emphasis on pre-filing guidance for the FAFSA and CSS Profile, helping families understand how financial information is evaluated and what it's future implications can be.
Because first-year financial aid awards often establish a baseline for future years, informed planning at this stage can have a significant long-term financial impact, potentially saving families thousands of dollars over the course of a student’s education. By offering clear explanations, structured planning, and ethical, education-first guidance, Tuition Aid Consulting will work to increase transparency in a system that is often confusing and inconsistent.
How we can help?
We will complete a high-level review of your finances and top schools so we can cater our services toward your specific financial aid needs. This way our firm is always prepared to ensure we make the most of your consultation time with us before we even begin the conversation. During our time together we will complete a minimum of one financial aid application with you, whether it be the FAFSA, CSS Profile, or other institutional aid app.
Schedule & Prep
You schedule a 1.5 hour Zoom® appointment with us, list your top schools, and upload your tax return to our secure servers (powered by Proton®).
Consultation
- We'll begin with a pre-application interview to identify factors that aren't on your taxes and can't be relayed to Financial Aid Offices without specifically asking.
- Then a packaging overview to explain how packaging actually works, what to expect, cues to look for, and some quick etiquette.
- We then guide you through completing your aid application, and if there will need to be follow-up or an appeal.
- Time permitting, we complete another app or discuss loans, etc.
Follow-up
If from some reason we don't complete your application in time then we will schedule a follow-up free of charge.
